Atlante Wines is a small-scale project on Tenerife, one white and one red, that's all they make. All their vines are still trained with the old-fashioned 'córdon trenzado', which actually means braided vine. This is an old technique that was developed on Tenerife to be able to plant vines on the challenging volcanic soil. Vines trained in this way always give the wine just that little bit more ripeness. The white is made from Listan Blanco, or Palamino, and the red from Listan Negro, which is also known as País in Chile. They are located in the Orotava Valley and make the wines there with the same cement tanks as their grandparents, the only thing that changes, they say themselves, is the knowledge of the process and a clear vision. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts, pressing with the feet, maturation in cement and neutral wooden barrels, minimal sulphite - all with respect for nature.
The wine has been matured for 12 months in 600 liter wooden barrels.
