Dominique Cornin

Dominique Cornin is a small domain in the Mâcon and has long been in the possession of father Dominique and son Romain Cornin. Together they manage their 10 hectares of vineyards around the village of Chaintré in the southernmost point of the Maconnais, where it connects to the Beaujolais. In 1998 the use of chemical pesticides was stopped. After being successful with an experiment, they completely switched to organic and biodynamic viticulture in 2003. According to their method, a natural microbiological balance must be present in the soil. Because of this method, their wines offer a very large diversity and their different "terroir" are beautifully reflected. During vinification, only natural yeasts naturally present on the grape are used here, instead of the often seen industrial ones. As a result, the various vineyards all have their own distinctive signature and are also very distinct in character.
