Villa Raiano
At Villa Raiano much emphasis is placed on the combination of grape and microclimate. The microclimate present is ideal.Because of the shelter of the mountains it is warm early in the spring. If you get a little higher on the slopes, there is a big difference between day and night temperature, ideal for the development of the grape.
White grape varieties, such as the Fiano di Avellino and the Greco di Tufo, have been planted on the higher vineyards. In the lower vineyards, the blue grapes such as Aglianico, the basis of the famous Taurasi wine, grow. ”
The modern basement built in 2009 is partly underground. The grapes enter at the top and are pressed there. Then they go one floor lower for the fermentation.Eventually they come deep underground in the bottling plant. This way we never have to pump the wine by machine. And that ensures real quality gains. ”
