Description
The queen of Château du Cèdre draws all attention and catches all eyes. As always. And she makes no attempt to hide her assets, quite the contrary. An exploding bouquet, enchanting in taste with ripe fruit, oriental herbs and the rich scent of lilies. Opulence and elegance dominate the palette with smooth and precise movements, a radiant freshness, lace tannins, nougat and elderberries that add a lot of charm. Young and brilliant, promised a beautiful and long life. Le Cèdre is a smooth wine and goes perfectly with duck stew, grilled beef, game stew, rabbit with plums, roasted poultry and much more.
An excellent vintage 2016. Spring started with beautiful higher than average temperatures and fairly dry conditions. June was exceptionally sunny and allowed perfect bloom, while July and August were full of sunshine and some rain at the right time. The weather conditions in September resulted in an almost perfect ripening of the grapes.
The harvest is sorted in the vineyards and destemmed and pressed upon arrival in the cellar. 40 days of maceration with daily skin immersion at the beginning of the fermentation. Malolactic fermentation takes place in oak barrels. The wines are not fined or filtered before being bottled.
Aging: aged for 24 months in barrels 80% oak tanks, 20% oak barrels of 1 year old.
