Domaine Clos de Chevigne Saint Véran Les Morats 2022
Clos de Chevigne Saint Véran Les Morats is a beautiful classic round and filming chardonnay from Maconnais Bourgogne. Beautiful ripe stone fruit in the nose with also many floral tones. The wine shows minerality and influences of the partial aging in oak. Read more
The Saint-Véran appellation is quite young (1971) and covers approximately 700 hectares. The appellation is formed around Pouilly-Fuissé and produces only white wines based on Chardonnay. The wine region is divided into two parts by the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation.
Because wines from Saint-Véran are less famous than wines from Pouilly-Fuissé, for example, (not to mention Puligny-Montrachet or Meursault), these Chardonnays from Burgundy are much more affordable.
The colour of Clos de Chevigne Saint Véran Les Morats is golden yellow. The nose is aromatic with ripe fruit aromas of pear and peach/apricot and notes of acacia and honeysuckle. There are also hints of fresh hazelnut, almond and honey to be discovered. The wine is dry, nicely filmy and round, mineral with a lot of freshness.
