Domaine de la Baume owns 200 hectares of vineyards around the Servian area, near Pézenas and Béziers. The winery is only 20km from the Atlantic Ocean. Year after year, winemaking at Domaine de la Baume has been refined and adapted to meet the demands of international markets. The mission is to produce and market modern wines that reflect only the very best wine styles of the region. The wines are then positioned as a recognizable brand in the Vin de Pays d'Oc category. It was a steep learning curve about soil and climate and applying good New World wine production techniques to get the best out of classic French grapes such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah.
In addition to the integrated approach, La Baume has now grown into the testing institute for innovation in the region. For example, it was the first company to introduce cool evening harvesting in the Languedoc and recently pioneered the (re)introduction of screw caps in France.
