Douro red is an assembly of grapes from different estates, the wine is full of ripe berries and tannins whose structure becomes softer.This is a generous wine ready to be drunk.The fragrance is concentrated, with aromas of ripe red fruits, hints of violets and "esteva" (a local Portuguese resinous shrub).In the mouth it has a good structure with ripe round tannins and a lingering finish.
80% of the grapes come from vineyards planted in the 1990s and 20% from older vineyards, between 60 and 100 years old.The grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks of 5 and 10 tons, completely destemmed.70% of the wine is aged for 16 months in stainless steel tanks and 30% in used 225 liter French oak barrels (3rd and 4th year).
