Idisma Drios stands for gentle wood maturation and this wine has had that too. After maceration, the wine is aged in new French oak barrels and aged on the lees for 5 months. This provides a rounder mouthfeel but also extra complexity.
This Wine Art Estate Idisma Drios Assyrtiko is made 100% from the Assyrtiko grape. A grape that is super famous from the island of Santorini, but also produces fantastic wines in the Northeast of Greece.
Wine Art Estate is located in Drama and was started in 1993 by Yiannis Papadopoulos and Yiannis Kalaitzidis. “Wine Art” stands for how well Greek and international grape varieties do in the microclimate of Drama. It is now one of the absolute top estates in Greece, located in the Kavala region. The vineyards are located on the slopes of Mount Pangeon, known for its fertile soil and beautiful powerful wines.
