Joseph Hofstätter founded his wine estate in 1907 in the historic wine village of Tramin, in the mountainous province of Alto Adige in northern Italy. It is a traditional winery that has now been in existence for five generations. The family business owns around 50 hectares of vineyards, which is quite a lot in this region. The vineyards are located between 205 and 800 m above sea level on both sides of the Adige river in the south of Alto Adige.
In the glass, the deVite presents itself very lively and fresh with a light lemon yellow color and greenish reflections. The seductive bouquet initially reveals notes of green apples and boxwood combined with a hint of lemongrass, hints of elderflower and a touch of vanilla. Then the scent changes, developing increasingly floral notes with a hint of vanilla. The wine is beautifully balanced, mineral and fresh and has a long, clean finish.
