The Bell Cross winery is a young winery and is located below Barcelona, high in Montsant, near Priorat. The winery was founded not long ago, but the vines are old. The quality of the vineyards is therefore enormous. In the past, it was just too high and cold here. Moreover, the vineyards were not protected by surrounding mountain slopes as is the case in Priorat. But due to global warming and climate change, the location has its advantages. The first to recognize this was winemaker Joan Asens. A man with the nickname "crac" - roughly translated as genius - is of course a good person to have. Born and raised next to the current domain, he knew the potential of these vineyards. For example, he was consulting winemaker for Alvaro Palacios, but he did not have to think long about becoming the winemaker of Bell Cros. 2019 was the first year at Bell Cros and in that same year he was named winemaker of the year in Catalonia. The white wines are made from Garnacha Blanca and the red wines from Carinena and Garnacha.
