Description
La Dame, the estate's second wine, is fantastic. A burst of red stone fruit, flowers and spices sweeps the palette in a lush, open Bordeaux Superior that is sure to find many admirers. Fresh, smooth and complex, with a precise definition of red fruit balanced by spices and great tannins. Aging usually in neutral oak and concrete helps maintain a degree of freshness.
Passionate and fond of great wines, Pascal Collotte decided to take over Château Jean Faux in 2002. From a ruin he built a small estate on the beautifully situated slopes of Sainte-Radegonde, on the left bank of the Dordogne, 5 km from Castillon-la-Bataille. With great care for the vines, this plant lover is mainly looking for the signature of the terroir. Closely controlled by Stéphane Derenoncourt, the wines, certified in biodynamics, are vinified in perfect conditions and benefit from a measured aging. Here the priority goes to balance. The wines are therefore easily digestible and easy to drink, both young and with a few years of aging.
Vinification: 12 to 14 months in oak barrels and 6 months in stainless steel barrels. 100% Saury French oak barrels 20% in new barrels, 40% in 1 year old wine barrels and 40% in 2 year old wine barrels.
