Description
Rioja Reserva has a deep ruby red color with a brownish edge, indicating its long barrel ripening and slow bottle ripening. In the fragrance it is powerful with primary aromas of ripe fruit accompanied by complex spicy and balsamic notes and a slight hint of vanilla. The taste of the wine is balanced, it is a round and smooth wine with ripe and sweet tannins, which give the wine a long aftertaste: an elegant Rioja classic.
Rioja Reserva is made from Tempranillo and Graciano, from old vineyards with very low production. The vineyards are located on the poor land of the terraces of the Ebro in the area of San Vincente de la Sonsierra (La Rioja). The grapes are picked by hand in the second and third week of October. From receipt of the grapes in the cellar, they work with gravity. That means no pumps are used, which is better for the grapes and ultimately the wine. The wine is aged for 10 months in French oak barrels from 1 year to 3 years old.
Located in the historic village of San Vincente de la Sonsierra, Bodega López de Haro rises above a sea of vineyards, flanked by the Ebro and Sierra de Toloño rivers. The bodega is completely excavated on the side of a mountain. The selection of wines is named after Don Diego López de Haro, founder of the city of Bilbao. Hacienda López de Haro is a series of wines that combines the simplicity and elegance of great classics with today's consumer taste. The terroir in this region is of calcareous clay. This produces a wine with refined freshness and a pleasant length and aftertaste.
