In 1978, Roman and Adelheid Pfaffl became the young owners of Weingut Pfaffl in Stetten, a village just north of Vienna in the Weinviertel region. Before 1978, the Pfaffl farm was all about grain, potatoes and cattle. A lot has changed in a short time. Today, Pfaffl is an international symbol for Grüner Veltliner. They have even been voted European Winery of the Year by Wine Enthusiast.
The grapes are destemmed and crushed. They undergo a 2-hour skin maceration before being pressed. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 18 degrees in stainless steel tanks.
