Description
In the glass, Château Rouget 2017 shows a beautiful dark garnet color. The wine has pronounced aromas of stewed plums, warm spices, warm black cherries, mulberries along with smoked tobacco and woody notes. The taste is firm and juicy at the same time, the taste yields many savory black fruit preserves, underlined by velvety and fine tannins and an earthy aftertaste. Will only gain in complexity and richness with time.
Located in the heart of the AOC Pomerol, Château Rouget covers a vineyard of approximately 18 hectares with clay and gravel soils. The vineyard's grape varieties are dominated by Merlot (85%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (15%).From a very qualitative point of view, the wine estate tends to have low yields that do not exceed 35hl / ha.The grapes used to make Château Rouget 2017 were harvested by hand in a crate, before being vinified and aged in oak barrels (50% of which are new).
