Ruby Port is bright red in color.The wine has a very attractive aroma, with notes of ripe red fruit, plums, cherries and some notes of dark chocolate and cocoa.In the mouth, the wine is soft, with the presence of tannins.All this balanced by a good acidity that makes the wine very well paired with chocolate-based desserts.It also goes well with cheese (hard or soft and also blue cheeses), but also with all types of chocolate.It also pairs perfectly with pepper steak.
The grapes for this wine come from different vineyards in the heart of the Douro, the Cima Corgo.They are vinified in wine presses with foot steps.The wine is matured in barrels for a period of 3 to 4 years.At the end of this period, the different wines are mixed to obtain a final, richer and more complex blend.
