Sainte Léocadie is a small family business from the Minervois that makes high-quality wines. Complex wines that are still affordable.
In 2002, Anne and Thierry Bonnel took over the domaine in Aigne from their parents. The vineyards (30 hectares) are not on the plain but on (sometimes even very) steep slopes. This means that no mechanical processing is possible (a tractor cannot pass through), but the terroir is actually better: the wines are more elegant and have more finesse than wines from the plain. And that is special because this is the hottest part of the Minervois! There are many old to very old sticks, which adds to the complexity. No pesticides are used. Excellent quality and very affordable!
