Tawny Reserve is orange in color, with golden accents.It has a very rich aroma, with notes of very ripe fruits such as raisins and figs, in combination with notes of almond, walnut, caramel and coffee.On the palate it has a very fresh and elegant taste with good acidity.In the long finish, notes of dried fruit stand out.This Tawny goes well with cheese, chocolate-based desserts, nuts, eggs and caramel.The wine can also be enjoyed as an aperitif with pâtés, foie gras and some terrines, served at room temperature or slightly chilled.
The grapes come from different vineyards and different grape varieties typical of the Douro.Fermentation takes place in traditional lagares.It then ripens in the cellars of Niepoort in Vila Nova de Gaia, in barrels with a capacity of 550 liters.After 6 to 7 years of maturation, the different wines are mixed and then bottled.
