Description
Combining tradition and modern technologies, Brunello di Montalcino has always been a great wine, certainly important and very pleasant to drink: when young, it is rich in hints of fruit and flowers; mature, it acquires complex and heavenly characters, emphasizes a wide bouquet with sensations of oak. The wine has a ruby red color that tends to garnet when aged. It is intense, abundant, fine, with a bouquet of ripe red fruit and spices of tobacco and liquorice on the nose. On the palate, the wine is warm, has a soft taste with velvety tannins. Balanced, very intense and persistent, fine and full. Pure Sangiovese grapes from a selection of only the best grapes from the Tenuta di Sesta vineyards. The grapes undergo a classic way of aging in Slavonian oak wood, for 30 months and 1 year of aging in the bottle.
Tenuta di Sesta is located in the southern part of the municipality of Montalcino, between Sant'Angelo in Colle and Castelnuovo dell'Abate, near the famous Romanesque abbey of Sant'Antimo, on a south-facing slope that goes downhill from 400 to 200 meters above sea level. These lands are considered one of the most suitable areas for the production of Brunello di Montalcino, given their specific location: in fact, the vineyards in the north are sheltered from the cold winds from the north by the Poggio d'Arna and enjoy the warm Maremma currents thanks to the proximity of Monte Amiata which favors a mild microclimate. Thanks to its enchanting location in Sesta, it is possible to enjoy the fruits of the earth well before other regions.
